What you need

Python 3.10 or newer - free from python.org.

  Windows : the python.org installer already includes everything. Nothing else to do.
  macOS   : the python.org installer already includes everything. Nothing else to do.
  Linux   : most distributions ship Python without the graphics part (Tkinter).
            Install it once with ONE of these, matching your system:
              Fedora / RHEL    :  sudo dnf install python3-tkinter
              Ubuntu / Debian  :  sudo apt install python3-tk
              Arch             :  sudo pacman -S tk

How to start

Windows        : double-click run.bat
  macOS / Linux  : double-click run.sh, or in a terminal:  ./run.sh

How to use it

New invoice        - start a new one
  Client and dates   - fill in, then Save details
  Add line           - description, qty, unit price, VAT %
  Mark paid / unpaid - toggle who has settled
  Show unpaid only   - see exactly who still owes you
  Export HTML        - opens in a browser; use Print to make a PDF
  VAT summary        - net / VAT / total per month, for your accountant

Where your data lives

One single file: ~/sovereign_invoice.db
Back it up by copying that file somewhere safe. That is the entire backup.

A fully offline desktop program with a normal window and buttons.
Your data never leaves your computer. No internet. No account. No subscription.

WHAT YOU NEED

PRINTING / PDF
Export HTML writes a clean invoice file. Open it in any browser and use
the browser's own Print command to print it or save it as a PDF.
